HELLOFAM ALPHA
Where were we...In May of 2009, we released a public Alpha version of the HelloFam experience. Not a finished iteration of our vision to be sure, but rather, a test platform for the purpose of generating feedback and testing our concepts. Alpha registration was public, meaning that anyone who heard about it could join. With no advertising to speak of, and only word-of-mouth referrals spurring registration, HelloFam had garnered over 300 families, comprised of nearly 500 individuals and sharing 2,500 photos by the time the Alpha concluded in July, only two months later.We learned a lot during that time, and collected information about what we were doing well and what we totally screwed up. Using what we learned during the Alpha release, were hitting the drawing board again.
